Know what to practice
Improve your obstacle work
Learn at your own pace
You know the obstacle.
But what should you practice to improve it?
Your horse loses balance in a turn, rushes an approach or struggles to stand still at the gate.
You try again, but you’re not sure what to change, or which exercise would help.
Making progress starts with understanding the difficulty and knowing how to prepare your horse.
That’s where Hervé’s practical training setups come in: they connect the skills you develop in your everyday schooling with the obstacles you want to ride.
Put your preparation into practice
Build your horse’s skills through practical schooling exercises, then learn how to apply them across the Working Equitation trials.
-

Dressage
Improve the quality of your movements, prepare accurate transitions and understand what makes a well-ridden test.
-

Ease of Handling
Learn how to prepare and ride each obstacle, then connect them into a smooth, well-organised course.
-

Speed
Work on your lines, turns and changes of pace to ride a more efficient course while maintaining control.
-

Cattle Sorting
Understand cattle behaviour and learn how to prepare your horse to approach, separate and guide a cow.
Learn with Hervé Maurel
Understand what to look for, why it matters and how to work on it.
A Working Equitation rider, instructor and international competitor, Hervé combines technical precision with a practical approach to training.
His setups give horse and rider clear reference points: a line to follow, a transition to prepare, a place to turn.
In the lessons, you see different horses and riders working through the exercises. Hervé explains what he observes and the adjustments he makes, helping you understand both the preparation and the finished movement.
