Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2026, October 31
1. About us and scope of these Terms
Working Equitation Academy is operated by WEA SAS, a French company.
Registered office: 380 chemin des Innocents, 30470 Aimargues, France
Company registration: 979586286
Share capital: €1000
VAT identification number: FR19979586286
Email: contact@workingequitationacademy.com
In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to WEA SAS. “You” refers to the person purchasing or using our services.
These Terms apply exclusively to subscriptions to and use of our English-language online training platform and its associated resources.
They do not govern purchases made through our French-language offer, which is subject to separate French-language terms and conditions.
“The membership” refers to the English-language subscription and the training content and features included in the offer you purchase.
2. Your membership
Working Equitation Academy provides online educational content to help riders develop their horse’s skills and progress in Working Equitation through specific preparatory exercises and practical training.
Your membership includes the content and features described on the sales page at the time of purchase, including streaming video lessons, downloadable workbooks and exercise diagrams, and access through the online platform and its associated app.
Training videos are dubbed in English. English subtitles are also included, optional.
All subscription plans provide access to the same membership content. The difference between plans is the billing period.
Unless expressly included in your purchase, the membership does not include individual coaching, assessment of videos submitted by members, in-person instruction or supervision of your training sessions.
Where lesson comments are available, you may use them to ask questions. Answers do not replace an individual assessment of you, your horse or your training environment.
The description of the membership provided before your purchase forms part of your agreement with us.
3. Eligibility and account registration
The person purchasing a membership must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
You must provide accurate account and billing information and keep it up to date.
Your membership is for your individual use. You must keep your login details confidential and must not share your account or provide access to another person.
Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4. Ordering and access
Before paying, you can review your selected plan, billing frequency, total price and these Terms.
By completing checkout, you agree to pay the amount displayed and authorise the recurring payments associated with your selected plan.
We will send an order confirmation by email, together with the Terms applicable to your purchase in a format you can save.
Access instructions are sent to the email address used at checkout. Access will be provided within [MAXIMUM ACCESS DELIVERY TIME] after successful payment.
If you do not receive your access email, check your spam folder and contact contact@workingequitationacademy.com.
If we fail to provide access as agreed, your statutory rights concerning non-supply remain unaffected.
5. Subscription plans and recurring payments
We offer three subscription plans:
Monthly: payment in advance for one month of access, renewing automatically each month.
Quarterly: payment in advance for three months of access, renewing automatically every three months.
Annual: payment in advance for twelve months of access, renewing automatically each year.
The applicable price, currency and billing frequency are displayed before you confirm your purchase.
Any monthly equivalent displayed for a quarterly or annual plan is provided for comparison only. The full quarterly or annual amount is charged at the beginning of the corresponding billing period.
These are recurring subscriptions, rather than instalments towards ownership of a course.
Your subscription continues to renew until cancelled in accordance with Section 7.
We provide renewal information and reminders where required by applicable law. Any statutory rights arising from a failure to provide a required renewal notice remain unaffected.
6. Prices, taxes and payment
Prices are stated in euros unless expressly indicated otherwise.
Where a price is identified as excluding tax, applicable VAT, sales tax or similar taxes may be added according to the tax rules applicable to your purchase and location. Any such presentation remains subject to mandatory local consumer pricing requirements.
The applicable taxes and the total amount payable for your selected billing period will be displayed before you confirm payment.
You must provide accurate billing and location information so that the correct tax treatment can be applied.
Your bank or payment provider may charge currency conversion or transaction fees. These charges are determined by your provider.
Payments are processed through the payment services available at checkout.
If a recurring payment fails, we will notify you and give you a reasonable opportunity to update your payment details. Access may be suspended while the payment remains outstanding.
Suspension does not authorise us to charge for periods after an effective cancellation or retain payment where a refund is legally due.
7. Cancelling your subscription
You can stop your subscription from renewing at any time before your next renewal payment.
You can cancel through our online cancellation facility: https://workingequitationacademy.thrivecart.com/updateinfo/
You may also request cancellation by emailing contact@workingequitationacademy.com from the email address associated with your membership.
We will confirm receipt of your cancellation and the date on which your access will end.
Unless you exercise a withdrawal right or another right to an earlier termination, cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period. You retain access until that date, and no further renewal payments will be taken.
Cancelling a quarterly or annual subscription stops the next renewal. It does not ordinarily result in a refund for the unused portion of the current paid period.
Deleting the app, stopping use of the platform or unsubscribing from marketing emails does not cancel your subscription.
This section does not restrict your statutory rights to withdraw, obtain a refund or end the contract earlier where the law allows.
8. Refund policy and withdrawal rights
We do not offer a money-back guarantee or a voluntary cooling-off period.
Where permitted by applicable law, payments are non-refundable once access to the digital content has been provided with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you will lose your statutory right of withdrawal when supply begins. We will confirm this consent and acknowledgement by email.
This exception applies only to the extent that the relevant content and contractual obligations legally qualify for it. Providing account access does not, by itself, extinguish any statutory withdrawal right that remains applicable to an ongoing service.
Subject to your statutory rights, refunds are not provided because you change your mind, do not use the platform, or cancel during a paid subscription period.
Where you retain a statutory right of withdrawal, you may exercise it within the applicable legal period, ordinarily 14 days from entering into the contract, by using: https://workingequitationacademy.thrivecart.com/updateinfo/
Alternatively, email contact@workingequitationacademy.com with a clear statement that you wish to withdraw. You may use the model form at the end of these Terms, but doing so is not compulsory.
Any reimbursement legally due will be made within the applicable statutory deadline, ordinarily within 14 days after we are informed of your withdrawal, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise.
Where the law permits a proportionate charge for a service supplied before withdrawal at your express request, that charge will be calculated and disclosed in accordance with applicable law.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits mandatory withdrawal rights, legal guarantees, or rights to a refund arising from non-supply, lack of conformity, incorrect charges or other grounds provided by applicable law.
9. Technical requirements
To use the membership, you need:
A reliable internet connection suitable for streaming video.
A compatible computer, tablet or smartphone.
An up-to-date supported web browser.
Access to the email address used for your account.
A PDF reader is required to open downloadable workbooks.
The optional app requires a compatible device and supported operating system. Check the current requirements in the relevant app store before installing it.
Videos are provided for streaming. Offline video access or video downloads are not included unless expressly stated.
Any material compatibility restrictions known to us will be disclosed before purchase. Contact us before subscribing if you need to confirm compatibility with a particular device or accessibility requirement.
10. Availability, updates and changes
We provide access throughout your active, paid subscription, subject to reasonable maintenance and the provisions of these Terms.
If a technical problem affects access, contact us so that we can investigate and restore the service. Your statutory remedies remain available where an interruption amounts to a failure to supply or a lack of conformity.
We provide updates necessary to maintain conformity throughout the contractual supply period.
We may make reasonable changes to improve navigation, accessibility, security or teaching materials, or to comply with legal requirements.
Changes beyond those necessary to maintain conformity will only be made for a valid reason, without additional cost, and with the information required by law.
Where a change adversely affects your access or use beyond a minor extent, we will provide advance notice in a format you can save and explain any applicable right to end the contract or retain an unchanged version.
We will not remove the essential content promised at purchase without providing the remedies required by law.
If we permanently discontinue the membership, we will notify affected members, stop future charges and refund prepaid amounts relating to access we can no longer provide, without limiting any further statutory remedies.
11. Legal guarantees
WEA SAS, whose contact details appear in Section 1, is responsible for the applicable legal guarantees.
Statutory guarantee information — continuous digital supply
The membership is supplied continuously during each paid subscription period: one month, three months or twelve months, and during subsequent renewed periods.
You benefit from the statutory guarantee of conformity for defects appearing throughout the contractual supply period. During that period, you must establish the existence of the defect, rather than when it first appeared.
This guarantee includes the provision of updates necessary to maintain conformity throughout that period.
You are entitled to have the digital content or service brought into conformity without undue delay, free of charge and without significant inconvenience.
You may obtain an appropriate price reduction or terminate the contract under the applicable legal conditions if:
We refuse to bring the content or service into conformity.
Conformity is unjustifiably delayed.
Conformity cannot be achieved without cost or significant inconvenience to you.
The defect persists after an unsuccessful attempt to remedy it.
A sufficiently serious defect may justify an immediate price reduction or termination without first requesting a remedy. A minor defect does not ordinarily justify termination of a paid contract.
Any period of unavailability while conformity is being restored suspends the remaining guarantee period until compliant supply resumes.
These rights arise under Articles L. 224-25-1 to L. 224-25-31 of the French Consumer Code. Bad-faith obstruction of the guarantee may result in a civil fine of up to €300,000, potentially increased to 10% of average annual turnover.
You also benefit from the guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code. An action under this guarantee must be brought within two years of discovering the defect and may entitle you to a price reduction or a full refund against relinquishing the affected content or service.
Any other mandatory consumer protections applicable to your purchase remain unaffected.
12. Equestrian risks, personal responsibility and protective equipment
Inherent risks
Horse riding, horse handling and equestrian training are inherently dangerous activities. Horses can behave unpredictably, including when handled or ridden by experienced people. Accidents may result in serious injury, permanent disability, death, injury to horses or damage to property.
These risks cannot be eliminated by following online lessons or wearing protective equipment.
Educational advice and independent practice
Our videos, written resources and answers to questions provide general educational advice. They do not constitute in-person instruction, supervision, veterinary advice or confirmation that a particular exercise is suitable for you or your horse.
Demonstrations show particular horses and riders in particular circumstances. They are not instructions to reproduce an exercise regardless of your experience, your horse’s preparation or the conditions in which you train.
You are responsible for deciding whether and how to apply the information, assessing the risks, and arranging appropriate in-person assistance.
Before attempting an exercise, assess your ability, your horse’s health, fitness, training and behavior, and the suitability of the facilities, footing, equipment and surrounding environment.
Progress gradually. Do not attempt an exercise beyond your ability or your horse’s preparation. Seek assistance from a suitably qualified professional whenever necessary, particularly for advanced movements, obstacle work, speed work, one-handed riding, garrocha exercises or cattle work.
Stop immediately if the situation becomes unsafe or if you or your horse show signs of pain, distress or loss of control. Seek veterinary advice where appropriate.
Riding helmets and other protective equipment
We strongly recommend that every rider wear a properly fitted and securely fastened equestrian riding helmet whenever mounted, regardless of age, experience, discipline or the exercise being performed.
Choose a helmet that meets the applicable recognised safety standard in your country and follow the manufacturer’s instructions concerning fit, use, care and replacement.
Some videos may show riders without helmets. This must not be interpreted as advice, approval or encouragement to ride without a helmet. Our recommendation to wear a helmet applies even when a person shown in a video is not wearing one.
Use other protective equipment appropriate to the activity, and comply with applicable laws, facility requirements and competition rules.
No helmet or other protective equipment can prevent every injury.
Responsibility for accidents
WEA SAS, its officers, representatives, employees, instructors, contributors, and other persons appearing in the videos do not supervise your independent riding or horse-handling activities merely because you access or follow our content.
You remain responsible for conducting your activities safely and for the decisions you make when applying the educational information provided.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, those persons and WEA SAS are not responsible for accidents, injuries or damage attributable to the inherent risks of equestrian activities, your unsafe or inappropriate application of the content, or other circumstances for which they have no legal responsibility.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for negligence, breach of a legal obligation, or any other act or omission to the extent that such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Results and competition rules
Progress depends on the horse, rider, training conditions and consistency. We do not guarantee a particular result, level of performance or rate of progress.
Competition rules vary between countries and organisations. You are responsible for checking the current rules applicable to your event.
13. Intellectual property
Our videos, workbooks, diagrams, text, photographs and other materials are protected by intellectual property rights owned by us or our licensors.
Your subscription gives you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the included resources for your own learning.
You may download and print resources expressly provided for that purpose. Copies lawfully downloaded may be retained for your personal use after your subscription ends, unless your purchase information expressly states otherwise.
You must not share account access, redistribute materials, upload videos elsewhere, sell copies or use our materials to create or deliver another course without written permission.
These restrictions do not prevent uses permitted by mandatory law.
14. Comments and member contributions
You remain the owner of material you submit.
You grant us only the permission reasonably necessary to host, display and process that material to operate the platform and provide the relevant service.
Submitting a comment or other contribution does not automatically give us permission to use your name, image or content in advertising. We will obtain any separate permission required for that purpose.
You must have the necessary rights and permissions to share your contributions. Do not post unlawful content, harassment, discriminatory material or another person’s private information without permission.
We may moderate or remove contributions that breach these requirements.
Any statutory rights to retrieve content you have provided or created remain unaffected.
15. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to address account sharing, unlawful conduct, a serious security issue or another material breach of these Terms.
Where appropriate, we will explain the issue and give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Immediate suspension may be necessary to prevent ongoing harm.
Any suspension or termination will be proportionate to the circumstances. It does not automatically remove rights to a refund or other remedy required by law.
16. Liability
We are responsible for providing the membership in accordance with our contractual and legal obligations.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Your statutory consumer rights and legal guarantees are not excluded by these Terms.
17. Personal data
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data, the service providers involved, and how you can exercise your data protection rights.
Accepting these Terms does not automatically constitute consent to marketing emails or optional cookies.
Unsubscribing from marketing messages does not stop essential communications concerning your account, payments, access or subscription.
18. Price changes and revisions to these Terms
We may revise prices for future purchases.
Any proposed change to the price of an existing subscription will be communicated in advance, with sufficient time to cancel before it takes effect and subject to any consent required by law. It will not change the price of an already paid billing period.
The version of these Terms accepted at purchase applies to that purchase. Posting a revised version on the website does not, by itself, amend an existing agreement.
Any changes affecting existing subscriptions will be made in accordance with applicable law and communicated in a format you can save.
19. Complaints and consumer mediation
Please first send any complaint to:
contact@workingequitationacademy.com
Or write to:
WEA SAS
380 chemin des Innocents
30470 Aimargues
France
Include your account email address, order reference where available, and a description of the issue.
If a dispute remains unresolved after a prior written complaint, eligible consumers may refer it free of charge to our designated consumer mediator, subject to the mediator’s admissibility rules:
Mediation does not prevent you from exercising your right to bring proceedings before a competent court.
20. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by French law.
If you are a consumer habitually resident in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory protections applicable under the law of your country of residence.
Any dispute may be brought before the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not require consumers to bring proceedings exclusively in Nîmes or exclusively in France.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
21. Previously purchased content
These subscription Terms do not automatically replace the contractual rights attached to content purchased separately before the membership was introduced.
Any previously granted access rights remain governed by the terms of the relevant purchase.
A previous purchase does not automatically enroll you in a paid subscription.
Model withdrawal form
Complete and send this form only if you wish to exercise an applicable statutory right of withdrawal. This form does not create a withdrawal right where that right has been validly lost under applicable law.
You may instead send any clear statement expressing your decision to withdraw.
